Details of Stay and Recommendation:

I was lucky enough to win the office ‘lottery’ of sorts, and as a result was the one who got to go on a 4 day trip to Vienna. It was mostly business, but I did get to explore the city a little. I popped into a couple of museums, wandered around the centre of town, and had some excellent food. I would certainly go back as I didn’t do the city justice. A 4 day trip meant three nights at this well-rated hotel.

I would have liked to have given this hotel a higher rating. The location was excellent, the staff polite and friendly, and the bar was, well there and open when you needed it. Unfortunately, they were not prepared for bed wetting guests.

Several weeks before travelling, I followed My Usual Procedures for Staying at a Hotel. I emailed the hotel and asked whether they had waterproof mattress covers. I was pleased to get a prompt reply, but much less pleased with the content of the reply. It read as follows:

I know that we got a mattress cover in the rooms, but it won’t be waterproof. Sorry we do have this service!”

I was happy they replies, but it was not very helpful in the least. It did allow me to prepare by bringing a couple of disposable bed pads along with my usual diapers. It was fortunate that I did. Jet lag led to a particularly wet morning after my first night. My protection leaked and left a sizable wet spot on both the sheets and bed pad. The sheets were changed by housekeeping during the day without any trouble. I wet my third and final night as well, but fortunately did not leak.

I can’t recommend this hotel as being particularly accommodating to bed wetting guests, but otherwise it was a decent hotel.
