I emailed the hotel in advance to ask if it’s possible for a waterproof mattress protector to be fitted to the bed in which they replied within 24hrs to say they did, and to mention it in special requests when booking and they would reserve the amenity for me. This I did, and very quickly received confirmation of the booking, and that the amenity had been reserved for me and would be fitted to the bed before I arrived.
When I checked in, the lady at the desk confirmed quietly that the waterproof protector has been fitted without me needing to ask. The room was lovely, and I immediately checked the bed and confirmed the protector had been fitted and was indeed waterproof. The layers of bedding were: mattress, thick padded topper, waterproof protector, thinner padded topper, sheet. The protector was very high quality with no noise from it at all. I was there for 10 nights and had one issue during my stay when the protection I was wearing leaked quite badly. I removed the sheets and thin padded topper, folded them up and asked for fresh bedding. This was all done with no issues or questions when I checked out.
